Be in touch to explore how drop-in, semi-regular, or regular instruction can help take your singing career to the next level. Online lessons available for gigging/traveling professionals.

Small Group Lessons are offered on an as-requested basis. Very young singers, members of the same vocal ensemble, students preparing the same school production, family members, and many other cohorts have scheduled a Term of group sessions and enjoyed great success.

Youth, Pre-Professional & Avocational Students

Individualized training is offered for singers of all ages and musical interests. Students register for regular, weekly lessons on a term basis. Three terms are offered per year:

     Fall Term (August -December)
     Spring Term (January-May)

     Summer Term (June-July)

Online Instruction

Sarah has been offering lessons to students located around the globe via online platforms for over 6 years. The virtual model is ideal for pre-audition coaching, technique check-ins, regular instruction for students located outside of the CO Front Range, or for any student who prefers to meet remotely.  Hybrid options of online and in-person lesson dates are also available.

Sessions are available for singers with specialized goals, such as: audition coaching, collegiate entrance guidance, middle and high school all-state preparation, theory and sight singing tutoring, movement and acting for singing, and performance anxiety. Sarah is also available for masterclasses, lectures, and adjudication.

Current policies follow guidelines set by national public health agencies and are guided by best practices and research provided by accredited professional organizations of teaching and singing.  Current studio policies are available for review HERE.

What Students Should Expect

I teach singing technique and performance practice for all styles of music, spanning the Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) and Classical genres. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that each and every singer possesses a unique and valuable instrument. My job is to help students find their natural voice, to understand the function of their body as their instrument, and sing with freedom, musicality, and expression.  I always begin work with the underlying goal of producing healthy, efficient singing. Fundamental technique includes correct posture/alignment, breathing, resonance, placement, and diction. Professional and advanced students will explore nuanced vocal techniques to support their musical and performance goals. Beginning students will be asked to sing from the Classical repertoire as well as their chosen repertoire in order to better develop a technically solid vocal instrument. Emphasis is also placed on musicianship, performance skills, and the psychology of performing.  Students are strongly encouraged to seek live performance opportunities. I welcome regular and open communication with students and guardians via email, phone, or in person.

What I Expect From Weekly Students

  • Outside, daily practice on exercises and music (documented in journal)

  • Attendance and punctuality for all scheduled lessons/coachings

  • Recording of weekly lessons to utilize in practice sessions

  • Healthy vocal lifestyle (no smoking, excessive drugs or alcohol, yelling, etc.)

  • Outside listening, performance attendance, and public performance (yours!)

  • Open and consistent communication, to ensure the most student progress
